Charming little love token ring, circa 1780 -1800. The high carat gold shank with a white enamel ground is inscribed : Votre amitié m’est chere – your friendship is dear to me. The ring is set with a vibrant blue sapphire, the gem symbolising fidelity and romantic devotion. The ring is size J [US 4 and 5/8] and completely original, with most of the white enamel still intact.
