Serpent enroulé

A substantial and fine quality 18 carat gold coiled serpent ring, circa 1880. The shank is decoratively engraved and the head is encrusted with rose-cut and old-cut diamonds weighing 1.50 carats in total. The serpent has cabochon ruby eyes. The ring is size O [US 7] and it weighs 7.7 grams. Gorgeous thing, in immaculate condition.
