‘Queen Anne’ paste necklace
A ‘Queen Anne’ paste necklace, circa 1780. ‘Queen Anne’ is a jewellery trade misnomer, as Queen Anne died in 1714. The necklace is silver and comprised of ovals of faceted paste within pyrites surrounds and in foiled and closed back gilt metal settings. It is 17 inches long and the central pendant section measures 2 and 1/4 inches by 2 and 3/4inches. Bright and immaculate.
