Portuguese chrysoberyl pendant

A rather fabulous large Portuguese chrysoberyl pendant, circa 1780. It is gold and densely pavé-set with vibrant sea-green Brazilian chrysoberyls designed to dazzle in candlelight. There is a locket compartment under crystal to reverse and the typical gold bead surround of Portuguese jewels from this era. The pendant measures 2 inches by 1 and 1/8 inches. Glorious colour, absolutely delicious.
