Pique inlaid beads

Pique inlaid beads

One of the best examples of a strand of Victorian pique inlaid beads I have seen, circa 1870. They are unusually large and plump and inlaid in gold and silver with floral motifs, strung on silver chain to give fluidity. The strand of beads is 17 inches long. The beads front centre are 2/3 of an inch wide and the smallest next to the clasp are 1/2 an inch wide. Fine quality and immaculate.
