A parliament of owls

An amusing Victorian bracelet circa 1880 depicting a parliament of owls carved from bog oak in pinchbeck settings. Bog oak is a generic term for oak, fir, pine and yew turned black with age by long burial in peat bogs. The bracelet is 7 and 1/4 inches long and each owl measures one inch by one inch. Well carved and immaculate.
