Georgian mourning ring

A substantial high carat gold scrolled Georgian mourning hoop commemorating two lives. The centre of the ring is set with a rose-cut diamond flanked by two smaller rose-cut diamonds, the gems foiled and set silver. The outer hoop is inscribed on a black enamel ground : B. Nowell Ob. 7 Sep 1739 AE 76. The inner hoop is engraved with details of an earlier demise : G. Taylor Ob. 26 Oct 1723 AET 64. The ring is size O [US 7]. It is in fine and original condition with most of the original enamel intact.
