Miniature figa

A talismanic miniature figa circa 1820. The figa has been a potent symbol since ancient times. It was worn as a powerful amulet to protect the wearer from the evil eye and dark and magical forces. This figa is 18 carat gold, containing  calcite and tiny branches of white coral. The hand itself is tortoiseshell, wearing a gold and turquoise bracelet and brandishing a dagger. It is 1 and 1/3 inches long and immaculate.
