Fine quality memento mori skull pendant, mid-18th century. The realistically modelled skull is carved from coral, with a gold and rose-cut diamond serpent entwined around it, symbolising death and eternity. The pendant is 1 and 1/8 inches tall, with a circumference of 3 and 1/4 inches. Rare, well carved and immmaculate.
