Je ne vois que toi

A most unusual French eye brooch, circa 1810. The brooch is 18 carat to reverse and silver on the obverse. The obverse depicts an eye, subtly hidden in a surround of guilloche enamel and overlaid with the motto in rose-cut diamonds : Je ne vois que toi – I only see you.The surround is set with flat-cut and old-cut diamonds. The brooch is just under two inches long and 1.5 inches wide. Exceptional quality, a one-off and immaculate.
