Il nous réunira

An 18 carat gold Georgian love token heart locket, circa 1820. The obverse is decorated with  a turquoise for forget-me-not and golden floral and foliate motifs. The locket opens and has a crystal locket back. When a small lever on the side is pressed, out pops a golden cherub bearing an olive branch. He stands on a white enamel banner with motto – Il nous réunira – he will bring us together / reunite us. The locket is 1 and 1/8 inches long including top suspension loop and 2/3 of an inch wide. Such an ingenious piece, beautiful quality, immaculate.
