Georgian skull mourning ring

A Georgian mourning ring dated 1759. The high carat scrolled gold shank contains the details of the deceased in gold capitals reserved on a black enamel ground : PW Ellis Ob. 27 Feb 1759 AE : 49. The hoop terminates in a compartment set with a tiny skull under faceted rock crystal and between rose-cut diamond shoulders. The ring is size K [US 5 and 1/8] and is completely original with enamel in near perfect condition.
