The quintessential Georgian ring, a rose-cut diamond cluster, circa 1780. The high carat gold trifurcated and engraved shank supports a plump cluster head of rose-cut diamonds in foil backed, silver settings. The reverse of the ring is sun-rayed. The total diamond carat weight is 1.50 carats. The ring is size J [US 4 and 5/8]. The diamond cluster head measures 2/3 of an inch by 1/2 an inch. In pristine and completely original condition, with the lovely steely hue of Georgian diamonds.
