Georgian regard heart

Georgian regard heart

A superior example of a Georgian regard heart, circa 1820. It is 18 carat gold and decorated with grapes and vine leaves and cannetille work. To obverse the sentiment regard displayed in the acrostic manner – ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby, diamond. To reverse a turquoise pansy symbolising forget-me-not. There is a locket section under glass to interior. The locket is 1 and 1/4 inches long including top suspension rings and chains and 3/4 of an inch wide. Very fine quality and so hard to find these days.
