Georgian amethyst riviere

A luscious, large Georgian amethyst riviere circa 1820. Rivière literally translates as a ‘river’, a seamless line of gems encircling the neck. This graduated riviere is gold and set with vibrant foiled amethysts in cut-down, closed back settings. It is 15 and 1/2 inches in length. The largest gem front centre measures 3/4 of an inch by 2/3 of an inch and the smallest next to the integral clasp measure 1/2 an inch by 1/3 of an inch. Glorious colour, immaculate condition.
