Georgian Maltese cross

A smart Maltese cross of carved banded agate circa 1820. The Maltese cross was a symbol of protection. The cross has 18 carat three colour gold central decoration – on one side a sunflower and on the other side roses. It measures 1 and 3/4 inches by 1 and 2/3 inches and is immaculate.
