Georgian amethyst rivière

A luscious, large Georgian amethyst riviere circa 1820. Rivière literally translates as  ‘river’, a seamless line of gems encircling the neck. This graduated rivière is 18 carat gold and set with vibrant amethysts over cerise foil in cut-down, closed back settings. It is 16 inches in length. The largest amethyst front centre measures 3/4 of an inch by 1/2 an inch and the smallest next to the clasp measure 1/3 of an inch by 1/3 of an inch. Glorious colour, substantial, immaculate.
