Etruscan Revival coral earrings
Very fine quality coral pendant earrings circa 1840. They are high carat gold and in the form of lyres set with large domes of corallium noble, [red coral] and coral drops in the most desirable shade of deep red, with rose-cut diamond accents. Italian coral jewels were so sought after in the 19th century that in Torre del Greco alone there were 82 coral carving workshops providing employment for 4000 people. These articulated coral earrings are 2 and 2/3 inches long and 2/3 of an inch wide at their widest point. Really fabulous qualilty, immaculate.
