Circles of love

A delightful crowned double cluster ring, circa 1780. The high carat gold trifurcated shank supports two entwined circles surmounted by a crown, comprised of rubies, old-cut and rose-cut diamonds in foiled and closed back settings. The ruby symbolised passionate love and the diamond represented constancy. The ring is size M and 1/2 [US 6 and 1/4] and the head of the ring measures 2/3 of an inch by 1/2 an inch. Very fine quality, completely original, immaculate.
