Caduceus

A charming miniature caduceus pendant circa 1900. It is 18 carat gold, set with a natural pearl and the entwined serpents are vibrantly enamelled. The winged entwined serpent caduceus was the symbol of the messenger and came to be associated with the physician. The pendant measures 3/4 of an inch by 1/3 of an inch and is immaculate.
