Ref  EM3  Stuart Crystal Ring

An exceptional Stuart crystal ring, circa 1680. Beneath the central rose-cut rock crystal two cherubs hold aloft a flaming heart above gold wire initials MD, on a weave of hair and a blue ground. The flaming heart denotes it as a love token rather than memorial ring. The crystal compartment is flanked by rose-cut diamond shoulders, set silver. The arcaded reverse is filled with duck-egg blue and white enamel. The ring is size M [US 6], substantial and in excellent condition.
