Ref  BC8  Souvenir

A Georgian mourning ring, dated 1785. The tapered gold shank supports a compartment expressing the sentiment souvenir in diamonds on a cobalt blue ground. It is covered by a domed crystal and within a surround of natural pearls. To reverse are the details of the deceased : Thos. Cory Luxmoore Obt. 1 Dec 1785 aetat 52. The ring is size N and 1/2 [US 6 and 3/4] and the head of the ring measures 1 and 1/8 inches by 2/3 of an inch. A charming souvenir d'amitié.
