Ref  TS4  Pan

A finely detailed coral carving of the god Pan, circa 1870. In Greek myth Pan, half man, half beast, was the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks and the companion and pursuer of nymphs. The word panic derives from his name. Here Pan is depicted in the classical manner bearded and with horns. The carving is finely detailed on a miniature scale. It measures 3/4 of an inch by 1/2 an inch and is immaculate.
