Ref  FD6  Mon Amie

A charming high carat two colour gold floral and foliate heart locket, circa 1820. The obverse is set with a ruby, the gemstone symbolising passionate love. Hidden within, waiting to pop out, is a golden Cupid bearing his bow and torch of love. Cupid poses on a plinth inscribed in enamel : Mon amie, [my love]. There is a glazed locket compartment to reverse. The heart measures one inch by 2/3 of an inch and is immaculate.
