Ref  WL4   Georgian Swivel Mourning Ring

Elegant, austere Georgian mourning ring, dated 1812. The trifurated, ribbed gold shank supports a swivelling tablet which is inscribed in reserve on a black enamel ground with the details of the deceased : Rob't Laver Ob. 29 Jan 1812 Aet 81. The reverse is set with a weave of dark brown hair in a locket compartment. The ring is size N and 1/2 [US 6 and 3/4] and the enamel tablet measures 2/3 of an inch by 1/3 of an inch. Fine quality and immaculate.
