Saphiret bracelet
A saphiret bracelet from Czechoslovakia, early 20th century. Saphiret glass has distinctive colour tones created by fusing gold with a sapphire coloured blue glass. The technique created translucent colours in brown and blue tones. The rarity of saphiret today is due to the high production costs it took to make. Eventually the price of gold became too high for production of saphiret to continue. The bracelet is gilt metal, 6 and 1/2 inches long, 1/2 an inch wide and immaculate.
