Magical ring

A rare carved cornelian agate magical intaglio circa 1820, reclaimed from an old piece of jewellery. It is incised with an abraxas – a four line magical formula in ancient Greek script to protect the wearer from harm and bring good fortune. In the 1st century AD professional magicians in Roman Egypt began to engrave such spells on gems and stones. It is set to a chunky, ethically sourced 100% Australian 18 carat gold ring.
