Ref  AB5   The Five Wounds of Christ

A rare 15th century 22 carat gold ring, the outer hoop engraved at intervals with traces of the five incisions Jesus suffered during the Crucifixion, surrounded by a profusion of droplets indicating Christ's blood. The symbols are a heart, a cross, a nail, stigmata hands and feet. The ring is size J [US 4 and 5/8] and the hoop is 1/4 of an inch wide. It weighs 10.3 grams. Another example is in the Durham University Museum of Archaeology.
