Ref AB1  Iberian Emerald Pendant Earrings

Fine quality gem-set pendant earrings from the Iberian Peninsula, circa 1800. The earrings have a floral motif and are set with table-cut and pear-shaped emeralds and rose-cut diamonds in silver foiled and closed back settings. The gold reverses are also engraved with floral motifs. The earrings are day and night in that the pendant drops can be detached and the tops worn on their own. They are and 3/4 inches long and 2/3 of an inch wide at their widest point. Lovely fluid sense of movement and surprisingly light on the ear. There is a slight colour variation in the foil behind the emeralds, commensurate with age.
