Ref  AD2   Georgian Chrysoberyl Ring

Fine quality Portuguese chrysoberyl ring, late 18th century. The gold bifurcated shanks supports a bezel pave-set with vibrant, foiled sea-green chrysoberyl in closed back silver settings. The close setting of the gemstones creates the illusion of an unbroken mass of light. The ring is size J [US 4 and 5/8] and can be sized, and the head of the ring measures 1 and 1/8 inches by 3/4 of an inch. Sparkling chrysoberyl, original and immaculate condition. For similar see the National Museum of Ancient Art jewellery collection, Lisbon, Portugal.
