Ref  MLH3   18th Century Skull Mourning Ring

High carat gold mourning ring, dated 1759. The scrolled shank is inset with black enamel and inscribed in gold capitals with the details of the deceased : H. Atkinson Ob. 16 Feb 1759 AE 89. The band terminates in a compartment containing a skull device under faceted crystal. The ring has a gold rayed reverse. It is size I [US 4 and 1/4], the crystal compartment measures 1/4 of an inch by 1/4 of an inch and the scrolled band is 1/8 of an inch wide. Immaculate.
