Ref  NW1  Mourning Miniature Bracelet

Fine quality gold mourning miniature bracelet dated 1789. Executed in tones of sepia, in a glade of cypress and willow, a female in Georgian attire mourns at a tomb inscribed : Affection weeps Heaven rejoices. Above the tomb is a hovering cherub, unfurling a banner inscribed:  To bliss. The tableau is set within a surround of seed pearls and covered by a glazed crystal. It is inscribed on the gold reverse : Ann Read Died 8th March 1789 aged 76. The navette miniature is strung to a bracelet of nine rows of natural seed pearls. The miniature measures 1 and 1/3 inches by one inch and the seed pearl bracelet section is 1 and 1/3 inches wide. The total length of the bracelet is just under 6 inches in length, however it can be made larger to fit any wrist size as I have a supply of antique seed pearls. A well executed miniature, the whole in immaculate condition.
