Ref BB4   Georgian Sunflower Ring

A fine quality ring, circa 1780, the tapering gold shank supporting an oval dome of cabochon amethyst glass set over cerise-pink foil and inlaid with a foiled rose-cut diamond and gold sunflower, symbolic of love and fidelity. It is unusual to find a Georgian ring set with amethyst glass rather than the more widely used cobalt blue glass. The ring is size L [US 5 and 1/2] and can be sized. The front panel measures 1 and 1/8 inches by 2/3 of an inch. Extremely fine, immaculate condition.
